Shiner

Addy Mae was practicing her walking skills and got a little over confident. She took a tumble and hit her eye right where her birthmark used to be. Due to all the blood vessels from her birthmark, it swelled up immediately and it is now turning lots of pretty colors. I tried to ice it but that did not go over well. Addy seems to be doing fine, now I just have to deal with the second glances and questions at the grocery store. She is supposed to get her one year old pictures taken next week. Let's all pray it starts healing.

Cousin Love

I babysat my nieces and nephews on Monday and captured this short video of Addy and Parker. Check out Addy's face when I say kiss...
I think she know what it means.

Surprise!

Matt's birthday was on Friday. He has been so busy with work that he had not put much thought into his birthday. I wanted to plan a fun night to get his mind off all the stress he has at work. I emailed two of his best friends, Drew and Chad, to see if they could meet us for a fun birthday celebration. We decided to meet at the Olympic Club in Centralia, half way between Seattle and Longview. It is an old brothel that McMenamins has turned into a hotel/restaurant/movie theater. I did not tell Matt I had anything planned. He got home from work Friday and I said I had a surprise for him. Addy would be staying with his Mom for the night and we were going on a overnight getaway. He was dying to know where we were going and getting so anxious in the car that I finally gave in and told him where we were going but he still had no idea that his friends were going to be joining us. When we got to the hotel everyone was waiting a the bar, I could see Drew, Emily, Chad, and Jesse from the lobby so I suggested to Matt that we get a drink before we check into our hotel. After much convincing he walks into the bar but walks right passed his friends. He proceeds to look right at them and not notice for several minutes. Finally, I say to him, do you see any good seats at the bar? And he says "No, it is full, lets go back and check in." I say, "You don't see anything, like maybe toward the middle of the bar?" He finally realizes his friends are here and says, "Oh, there's Drew!" We spent the rest of the evening laughing, talking, catching up, and toasting to Matt's birthday. Thanks guys for such a fun night.

These pictures were taken at the bar next door to the Olympic Club.
It was kind of a scary scene, so we did not stay long.

Water Baby

Addy had her first swim class! She loves the songs and she is learning to kick, splash, and blow bubbles in the water. Matt came to watch and take our picture, now we have to try to get him in the water.

Deal

I ran into Fred Meyers this evening to pick up a bottle of wine for our lovely dinner guest Kristi Cabe, I could not believe my eyes when I saw House Wine for $4.99! I was so excited about this bargin, I bought six bottles and then received an additional 10% off. I am kind of wondering if it was a mismark but not enough to argue with this steal of deal on our favorite wine. YEAH for great deals and yummy wine. Happy Friday Everyone and thanks Cabe for a fun visit!

Diggy Originals

A couple weekends ago I was at Diggy's apartment (right before she was about to move) and she was wanting to get rid of tons of stuff including some of her beautiful artwork. One of my goals for 2009 is to get more artwork/pictures on the walls at home. So thank you Diggy for helping me accomplish my goals. I love my Diggy originals they are so pretty and I love that they are made by someone so special.

Super Bowl Sunday

We watched the game at our friends Katie and Erik's lovely home in Ridgefield. They have this party room off the back of their garage that seriously feels like you are in your own private bar. It was the perfect setting for watching the game. And bonus you can bring babies to this bar!

We didn't actually watch much of the game. Too much socializing and good food to eat. Thanks for a fun afternoon friends.
